Case Labellers

Loveshaw have long recognised that there is a myriad of ways of getting product information onto a cardboard outer. In 1988 we were the first, to bring a self contained valve ink jet printer into the industrial coding market place. This printer, the Microjet, allowed for the first time, direct simple date and other traceability data to be printed directly and cheaply on a cardboard box.

However, time moves on and simple date codes and box counts are not now always sufficient data for the likes of the major supermarkets. They sometimes require more. In recognition of this, we decided to develop, with a UK partner labelling company, a case labelling capability. Available in apply only or print & apply machines, stand alone or part of a network including the capability to control from a single point of reference or on line touch-screen controllers. A versatile product offering.

Apply only

We offer two simple apply only label applicators. The LD120 and LD150. Both of these label applicators can be mounted on a Legend Case Sealer. This combines the act of box sealing and label application at the same time. The label is applied as the box passes through the case sealer, using the sealers’ drive mechanism to ensure smooth travel past the beak on the applicator. Thus combining two jobs in one easy process. Saving time and money.

Print and Apply

Sometimes it is more economic, especially where specialised labels are not required (e.g. where black print is sufficient) to actually print the label as it is applied. In this instance, Print & Apply label systems are ideal. This is particularly true when either short runs of different products are undertaken or variable data is required on the label. Such as bar codes, box counts, real-time pack times etc. For example data that very precisely gives traceability, giving the packing operation the ability to very quickly identify when, where & who has packed a particular batch.
Print & Apply label systems are available in stand-alone modules or can be integrated into existing or new production lines.
